Thoughts
Today's walk was in misty rain, 9 km along busy highway #2 with the remainder on quiet, rural roads. We did meet 2 other island walkers, Sherry and Carole, from BC. They are being supported by Sherry's husband who we met a couple of days ago.
We are changing some of our end points to even out our daily distances. This makes the walk more palatable and less onerous when the planned distance is long.
We hear that work is being done to clear the Confederation Trail which is remarkable given that Fiona only hit 2 weeks ago. When we pass an access point we do check and right now there are only downed trees visible. In a few days our route will take us back to the trail--we are expecting that we will need to look for alternate routes. Of note, 9300 customers are still without power. We hear occasional generators as we walk. I think most of these customers are individual places rather than a widespread area.
We continue to enjoy seafood every evening!

How nice to meet other Island walkers! I still wonder though about those two ladies we met at the hotel - the Portlander & the Aussie. They were so eager and lively.
ReplyDeleteHave not seen any evidence of them Jaellayna, not on the FB page or in person. I have wondered about them too!
